Translation glasses: how to choose, with a sourced comparison

Compare AI translation glasses on languages, offline mode, how captions appear, battery, weight and price, with every figure linked to the maker's own page.

Translation glasses, also sold as translator glasses or AI translation glasses, listen to a conversation and give you the translation through a lens display, through small speakers in the frame, or as text in a phone app. This guide compares five models on the six things buyers ask about first. Every figure links to the manufacturer's own page. We checked each one on 19 October 2026. Where the manufacturer does not publish a figure, the table says Unknown.

Disclosure: CNPS.AI sells INMO GO3 on shop.cnps.ai and makes money when you buy it there. INMO GO3 is in this comparison on the same terms as the other four models. The figures come from each manufacturer, not from us, and we do not score or rank the products.

What translating glasses actually do

All five products in this guide work the same way. Microphones in the frame pick up speech. A companion app on your phone, and for most languages a cloud service, turns it into text in another language. The difference is where that translation ends up:

  • In-lens captions. A small display in the lens shows the translated text in your line of sight, so you can keep looking at the speaker. INMO GO3, Even G2 and Meta Ray-Ban Display work this way.
  • Audio only, no display. The translation plays through open-ear speakers in the frame, and a transcript appears in the phone app. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) works this way. solos AirGo V2 also delivers translation as text in its phone app, with audio in one of its modes.

Glasses that translate languages mostly help the wearer. To reply, you usually need a second channel. INMO says the translation of your own speech is spoken through your phone speaker or the INMO Speaker accessory. Meta says that on Ray-Ban Meta your translated speech appears as text in the Meta AI app for the other person to read. Plan for that hand-off before you rely on the glasses at a counter or on a stand.

Comparison table (checked 19 October 2026)

Prices are the list prices on each manufacturer's US store in US dollars (USD) on 19 October 2026, unless the cell names another currency. Promotions, taxes and other regions differ. "Unknown" means the manufacturer's own pages did not publish the figure on that date. Each cell links to its source.

Notes on the table:

  • INMO GO3 weight. The table uses ≈58 g from INMO's specification page.
  • Even G1 is discontinued. Even Realities' G1 page says "Even G1 is no longer available for purchase". Existing devices stay supported. The table uses the current model, Even G2.
  • Meta has two models here. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) has no display and gives you the translation as audio. Meta Ray-Ban Display shows captions in the lens, currently for four languages. Read the two rows separately.
  • Battery figures are not comparable. Each brand measures a different activity: translation, mixed daily use, photos and AI queries, or music. Read the activity next to each number.

How to read the table

Language count is not the same as your language pair

A headline number tells you how many languages a list contains. It does not tell you whether your pair works in both directions, whether a language can be shown on the lens, or which accents were tested. Even Realities, for example, says Arabic, Bengali and Hindi on Even G2 can only be translated from, not displayed. Meta lists 20 online languages for Ray-Ban Meta but four for Meta Ray-Ban Display. Before you buy, check the manufacturer's current list for each language you need, as speech input and as translated output.

Offline versus online

Most AI translation glasses need a data connection because the translation runs in the cloud. Offline modes cover a shorter list. INMO lists 9 offline languages on Android and 13 on iOS. Meta lists 6 offline languages for Ray-Ban Meta once you have downloaded the packs. For Meta Ray-Ban Display, Meta says you need an internet connection to access translation and does not name which languages work offline. Even Realities says Even G2 translation needs internet access. solos does not say on the pages we checked. If you will work in exhibition halls, basements, aircraft or roaming zones, test with mobile data switched off.

Captions in the lens versus audio only

In-lens captions let you read while you keep eye contact. That suits noisy rooms and people who prefer reading to listening. Audio-only glasses keep your view clear and also handle music, calls and the camera, but in a fast conversation you have to listen to the translation. If you are hard of hearing, or the room is loud, captions in view are usually the deciding factor. Within one brand the answer can differ: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) is audio only, while Meta Ray-Ban Display shows captions.

Weight, fit and prescriptions

Published weights range from 36 g for Even G2 to 69–70 g for the Meta Ray-Ban Display frame, which also comes with a 42 g wristband. INMO GO3 (≈58 g) and Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) (51.5–53.8 g) sit between them. solos does not publish a weight on the page we checked. If you wear prescription lenses, confirm how each brand handles them before ordering. The process and cost are different for each.

Best translation glasses depends on the job

No single pair is the best translation glasses for everyone. Start with the situation:

Situation What to prioritise Models in this table that fit
Face-to-face conversations in noisy places Captions in view INMO GO3, Even G2, Meta Ray-Ban Display (check its four languages)
Travel with patchy data The offline language list INMO GO3, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3); check that your languages are on the offline list
Everyday wear with music, calls and a camera Audio quality and battery Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), solos AirGo V2
Lightest frame Published weight Even G2
A lower purchase price List price solos AirGo V2
A full working day of translation How batteries are swapped or recharged INMO GO3 (swappable batteries); compare the others on how you will actually use them

Our shortlist, with the disclosure repeated: if you need captions in view and an offline fallback, look at INMO GO3, which CNPS.AI sells. If you want captions in view in the lightest published frame and always have data, look at Even G2. If your languages are English, French, Italian or Spanish and you are in one of Meta's six markets, Meta Ray-Ban Display shows captions in the lens. If you want audio translation in everyday frames with a camera, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) is the current Ray-Ban Meta model. If the purchase price matters most and reading the translation on your phone is fine, look at solos AirGo V2.

A one-week test before you commit

  1. Write down your language pairs and directions. For example: Japanese speech → English text, and English speech → Japanese audio for the other person.
  2. Pick one real setting. A trade-show stand, a front desk or a sales visit. Avoid demo videos.
  3. Test online and offline. Run the same conversation on good Wi-Fi and with data switched off.
  4. Time a full shift. Note when the battery runs out and how you recharge or swap it.
  5. Check the reply channel. Can the other person read or hear your side without passing your phone around?
  6. Ask about privacy and the camera. Some sites restrict camera glasses. Check where recordings and transcripts are stored.

Run the same test on every model you are considering. Smart glasses work best when you start with one task. See Smart glasses: choose one field task first.

Common questions

Do translation glasses work without internet?

Some do, for a shorter list of languages. INMO lists offline translation for 9 languages on Android and 13 on iOS (inmo.com product page). Meta lists 6 offline languages for Ray-Ban Meta once you download the language packs (Meta Help Center). For Meta Ray-Ban Display, Meta says an internet connection is needed to access translation (Meta Ray-Ban Display page). Even Realities says Even G2 translation requires internet access through its app (Even Realities translation page). solos does not state an offline mode on the pages we checked on 19 October 2026.

Where does the translation appear?

On INMO GO3 and Even G2 it appears as text on a green Micro LED display in the lenses (manufacturer pages). On Meta Ray-Ban Display it appears as captions in the in-lens display (Meta Help Center). Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) has no display: you hear the translation through open-ear speakers and see a transcript in the Meta AI app (Meta product page, compare page and Help Center). On solos AirGo V2 it appears as text in the solos AirGo app, and Instant Translate adds audio (solos FAQ).

How many languages do AI translation glasses support?

It depends on the model and on whether you are online. On 19 October 2026 the manufacturers listed 98+ online languages for INMO GO3, 35+ for Even G2, 20 online for Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), 4 for Meta Ray-Ban Display (English, French, Italian and Spanish, with Meta saying more "will be available soon"), and over 28 for solos AirGo V2. Check that your exact pair is supported in both directions.

How much do translation glasses cost?

On 19 October 2026 the manufacturers' US stores listed INMO GO3 at $699.00 regular and $509.00 on sale, Even G2 from $599, Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) Wayfarer at $449, Meta Ray-Ban Display at $799 including the Meta Neural Band, and solos AirGo V2 Prime 2 at $299.00, all in USD. Meta also lists Meta Ray-Ban Display at £749 in the UK, CA$1,149 in Canada and €899 in France, Germany and Italy (Meta blog, 23 September 2026).

Does CNPS.AI sell any of these glasses?

Yes. CNPS.AI sells INMO GO3 through shop.cnps.ai. Its product page is at cnps.ai/en/products/inmo-go3. The comparison above uses the manufacturers' own figures.
